Dear Vera,
Dads cremation went off well.
Aunty Jose Maene and Andre, Willie and Karina were there, it was great that we had somebody from dads family there,
We were going down memory lane and I know dad would have approved.
Johanna and a couple of my work friends showed their respect by attending, Des & Rob as well.
We opened with Mario Lanza;s AVE MARIA, The apostles creed was recited, We then heard Pavarotti and Sara Brightman sing a time to say good bye. We then said a lovely prayer….
Rayzelle put on the song Im prosit Im Prosit der gamut lik hein “as you say it” ? and Drink Drink brutherline drink, and she quoted oupa with” if theres no beer in heaven…. All present had a chuckle.
We closed with the our father, and May the perpetual light shine on jeff may he rest in peace.
The coffin was then taken to the crematorium
Renilde and I went up to the krugersdorp game reserve to bide our time because we could fetch the ashes at 3. A huge whirlwind came and both renilde and I thought it could be either you or jeff….. We have the ashes and will sprinkle them at a later stage.
